Virender Ganda, Senior Advocate

Mr. Virender Ganda is a senior advocate (designated by the Delhi High Court), a fellow member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India and the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India, and the past president of the
Institute of Company Secretaries of India.

He is currently a member of the advisory committee to the Insolvency Board.He has over 40 years of experience including in relation to corporate litigation, corporate restructuring & arrangements, insolvency and bankruptcy, mergers, amalgamations, takeovers, economic laws, indirect taxation advisory and litigation, commercial arbitration and secretarial matters.

He regularly appears before the Supreme Court of India, High Courts in India, National Company Law Tribunal, National Company Law Appellate Tribunal and Competition Commission of India. He has been a member of various committees appointed by the Securities and Exchange Board of India for corporate governance and accounting standards, and also of advisory board of Securities and Exchange Board of India on primary and secondary markets.

He has also been a representative member of core group of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India at (i) the expert committees of Ministry of Company Affairs on Recodification of Companies Act, 1956; and (ii) expert committees of the Securities and Exchange Board of India on corporate governance and accounting standards. He appeared before the House Committee of Parliament and presented the suggestions for simplification and consolidation of the Companies Act, 1956.

He was involved in public sector reform program in Madhya Pradesh and passenger transport system regulatory framework in Andhra Pradesh at the behest of Asian Development Bank, United Kingdom.

As a corporate lawyer he was associated with leading industrial houses such as DCM, Eicher, Hero Group, Thapar Group in the past and has successfully handled corporate restructuring, arrangement, mergers, amalgamation and takeovers.
